On my very first day at work at the Corps, Dean introduced himself and gave me a coffee cup. I hadn't brought one that day. I said I'd bring one the next day. He said no it's yours to keep. I used that same "pink" cup for all of the 31+ years until I retired.
Over the years we became genuine "buddies" both at work and away from work. We scoured the countryside canoeing, camping, spelunking, target shooting, collecting, visiting historical sites and spots of interest.
