Jul 8, 1941 – Apr 11, 2025 (Age 83)
E. Peter Marshall, age 83, of Queensbury, NY, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones after a recent cancer diagnosis.
Born July 8, 1941 in Troy NY, he was the beloved son of the late Rita Marshall Flynn and E. Peter Marshall.
Peter grew up in Glens Falls, graduating from St. Mary’s Academy in 1959 and Siena College in 1963. He married Christine Brown the same year. He proudly started his own CPA practice, Marshall Associates CPAs, where he developed many strong professional and personal relationships with local business owners and community leaders. His wife, daughter Rita and son Peter all worked with him over the years along with several of his grandchildren. When he retired, his daughter Lynn took over his practice and is currently staffed with his grandchildren. He has a strong connection with Lake George, starting as a child spending time at his grandparents’ camp. He shared his love of the lake with his children and then grandchildren over his lifetime. He enjoyed golfing, boating, picnicking on the islands, traveling, long drives and good conversation. He was a communicant at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church in Queensbury but would sometimes attend mass at Sacred Heart in Lake George during the summer where he said mass was “a little shorter”.
He served many local organizations as a member, board member and advisor. He was a member of the GFPBO Elks lodge #81 for over 50 years, the Adirondack JC’s, the AICPA, NYS Society of CPAs, the Glens Falls Knights of Columbus, Lake George Kiwanis, The Glens Falls Country Club, and the Glens Falls Rotary Club.
He served as a board member for the Glens Falls Family YMCA, Liberty House, Wait House, LCLG Regional Planning Board and was past president of the Warren County Young Republicans Club.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Christine (Brown) Marshall and his five children, Peter (Cynthia) Marshall, Amy (Alfred) Merchant, Lynn (Glenn) Wadleigh, Rita (Jack) Dixon and David Marshall. He was the proud grandfather to Natalie Marshall, Benjamin (Katie Makarick) Marshall, Marina Merchant, Russell (Elizabeth) Merchant, Jessica Wadleigh, Danielle (Michael) Fitzgerald, Kristen Wadleigh, Ericka (Liam) McCarthy, Nina (Jackson) Long, Connor McCane, Logan Marshall, Jonathan (Deborah Sloan) Marshall, and Anna (Garret Greenwood) Marshall. He is also survived by his two beautiful great granddaughters, Lillian Marshall and Gracelee Greenwood. He leaves behind sisters-in-law, Louise (Jeff Platt) Richmond, Susan (Ben) Gauthier, Sandra (Bill) Bechtold and Kathleen (David) Martin along with many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, Stephen Brown and R. Scott Brown and by his grandson Andrew Wadleigh.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday April 15th from 4-6 pm at Baker Funeral home on 11 Lafayette St in Queensbury, NY. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday April 16th at 10 am at St. Mary’s church in Glens Falls. The burial will be private at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to one of the non-profit organizations listed above.

Peter was my father in law's (Dennis Galloway) accountant and executor of his estate. He was so helpful to us all over the years and especially after Denny passed. We had to handle most every thing long distance. Peter went above and beyond to help us through it all.
