Manny was my daughter-in-law, Renee's, Dad. My husband, Ken, and I got to know him well over the years. On important holidays, it wasn't unusual for us to receive a generous bag of (Lindt) Lindor chocolates from him, a nod to his native Switzerland. Last year around Christmas, we could see that he was failing. However, he rallied beautifully for a 90th birthday celebration where he was surrounded by loving family and long-time friends.
