Not sure what to say?

I am so very sorry as I am seeing this many years past Vance's Death. Vance was my Brother and through our lives, he was thoughtful and kind. Although we were very different , we still loved each other and accepted our differences. I pray he is happy in Heaven and at Peace...See you soon Brother. Fondly, Daniel E. Skidmore

Having been friends with Vance since his beginning days on the Fire Dept, we are sad at his death. He fought a good battle and our prayer now is that he is resting peaceably. We will always remember the good times, especially after he married Karen. She was so good to him, and those close to them knew of their deep love for one another. Life is not always perfect, but our memories will be of the good times during Vance's life. May all family members keep those memories alive. Our love, Dennis...

Vance; aka, "SandShark", Skid, and I'm sure so many more nick names that we had fun with, although I believe he enjoyed it even more. For those who know me, my sister Gale, was married to Vance during my 20's. I spent a substantial amount of my life with the two of them and would not have wanted to miss any of the wonderful times. Then, Vance was my mentor, a life friend no matter what. Determined and an incredibly courageous individual fighting for his own life for so long. I will miss him...

TO all that knew my father, i want to invite all, especially to whom knew his Little Yankee Football League that he created. This was very important to him, just like the kids in our neighborhood were to him at the time, many years ago. He cared so much to create this league for our community, so in turn we would like to honor him in all of his efforts to shape and guide the kids back then, when, in fact it was a very difficult time growing up... Please attend and honor his Life, in...

Vance was a childhood friend of mine also....we were married when I was seventeen, and he was barely twenty....in 1959. Our three children were born quickly thereafter in the early 1960's. I offer my thanks to Victoria Callen for the loving care she gave Vance in the last year of his life. And to our only son, Randy, who took his Dad fishing many, many times with oxygen tank in tow! Randy, that really mattered to your Dad! He told me so, everyone knows how much your Dad loved to be on the...

Our deepest thoughts are to Randal Skidmore and Victoria Callan, to whom stayed with Vance and lovingly cared for him during his last months of struggle for life. They will always be remembered for their efforts in making his last months of life very happy.

Dear Karen,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I'll always remember the great times I had at your home in Marathon. Wonderful memories with you and Vance.

Our love to Karen and her family. My brother was one of a kind!

We were childhood friends - probably
met when we were about 8 or 9. Where
did those years go? Vance - just
thought I'd let you know, I'm still
taking care of our Vette. - Forest
