No truer heart of gold ever gave so much in caring and quality for our beloved pets. I have many fond memories of waiting in his office till the last client left, he and I would crack a beer and discuss the incredible relationships we have with our pets.
His love and care was first rate and genuine. He will be forever thought of as the best veterinarian that ever lived.
I've always thanked and credited him for the encouragement and inspiration he gave me.

The family of Dr. Straley-
I was deeply saddened when I saw "Doc's" obituary in the paper. He
took such good care of my dogs,( all
five of them, the last one is now fifteen years old) for over a span of twenty some years.
He was an expert in his field and could make diagnosis without alot of
the modern technigues now available.
I remember the time my puppy swallowed a needle and thread and
when I called the office he consoled me that all would be well. Also, the time...

Doc Straley was a character straight out of a book. You'd be in that waiting room, never knowing when you'd get in (no appointments, first come first served) but you knew he was giving the same attention and love to all the pets and people who entered his office. I am glad my kids got to see how a true gentleman ran his business. Our best to his family. If all dogs go to heaven, Doc is going to be quite busy still.

After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 1961, I spent over two years under Jack's guidance and expertise. This experience enabled me to establish my own practice in Somerset County, which is now in it's forty eighth year. I am now and will forever be grateful that I had a person of his caliber that I could emulate dealing with animals both large and small and their owners. Please accept our sympathies.

Dr. Straley can never be replaced or duplicated. He used to be so loving and wise about all of our dogs! He had a hilarious dry sense of humor and spat tobacco in the sink as he helped us all! My family loved him and I never had a better vet ever!!

I am so saddened to hear of Jack's passing. He was our vet for as long as I can remember. His love for animals taught me a great appreciation for our four-legged friends as well. I dearly missed Jack after I moved to Texas. The animals world lost a great champion. We lost a great friend. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My eyes filled with tears when I read about Dr Straley's passing. He was a wonderful person and vet. He was a warm, friendly and generous man and devoted many hours to the needs of his clients, many times without payment. I often said if people paid him what he was worth he would be a millionaire. Am sure God has welcomed him with open arms.
