Not sure what to say?

It is hard to believe that 10 years have passed since the tragic day that took Peggy and Art from us. They loved their family and community so much and will be forever remembered and missed. Sending our love to their family now and always.

Today we put up our Advent Calendar bought over 20 years ago from Jay Country Store. It led me to think of Peggy and Art so did a Google search on them and have just read the awful news of their death last year - we are heartbroken. Peggy and Art, and not forgetting Jack, were lovely to us, a family on holiday from the UK and when we returned a few years later they welcomed us into their home, fed us, lent us their car and made us feel part of the family. Such tragic news.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for their thoughts and well wishes! They knew a lot of people and loved meeting and making new friends through the store. I am very appreciative of this living narrative and all that contribute! Thank you so much!

Each time Anne and I pass the Jay Country Store we reflect on those very special times when Peggy greeted us and our three girls after skiing. She would call out to Art who would prance forward with coffee cup in hand. We would share "kids" stories and find ourselves beaming with pride on our best mutual accomplishments. There will always be a very special place in our hearts for this very special twosome

I just visited Jay yesterday for the first time in nearly ten years and was shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Peggy and Art last summer. During the twelve years or so that I regularly spent time in Jay, seeing the Moran's at their store was always one of the high points of my excursions into the Northeast Kingdom. Though I hadn't seen them in a decade I still thought of Peggy and Art frequently and am sad beyond words that I will never get to speak with them again. They were loved...

What a lovely picture of Art and Peggy in their death notice. I am a 1971 graduate of St Mike's. One of my best memories of my time there was working at Shakey's during my junior and senior years. To this day, I don't know if Arthur's Hawaiian Delight was a legitimate Shakey's pizza or Art's concoction. Your parents were wonderful people to work for even if your Dad spent a few too many nights with us after closing hours while your Mom wanted him home to relieve her of some of the parenting...

May 5, 2012 at the Derby

Our grief continues. We struggle. But we have our memories and they are all so precious. They were both such a loving, happy, inspirational part of our lives. We were so lucky to have them so close. As our daughter Charlottes said "they were not just friends, they were like family, they were like my grand parents." They were taken away from us, and it makes no sense. Our lives are forever changed, we miss them both so much.

This is right time to wish that it will bring family to remember time of Peggy as using this wishing of happy world instead of sad place.
