She talked about the early days in State College and her founding of the Asian Studies program. She was an amazing woman. I learned a lot about her from the obituary. My deepest condolences. E-tu told me how she missed an afternoon at a professional conference in New Orleans so she could add a paddle-wheel ride on the Mississippi to her 'river collection'. I am fortunate to have spent time with her.
