I am so very heartbroken to learn of Earls passing. He was an amazing vocal coach, accompanist and a generous and kind human being. Although I am out of the opera loop these days, he stayed a dear friend. I miss him terribly and I know that he and Wendy are together.

A wonderful man, master musician and a personal friend of like interests. Earl gave a wonderful two hour recital in our home that we'll never forget. He had asked me to baptize him, a solemn and happy occasion in December of 2018 after which we enjoyed a dinner together and listened to an artist who understood Beethoven render three piano sonatas. He knew sorrow and loneliness but also the joy of being an admirer of Jesus.

I'm so extremely saddened to learn of Earl's passing. I spent some time with him in Manhattan in 2009. He never did heal after Wendy's death. I'm happy to think they are now together forever.

As a singer who worked with Earl personally, and observed his sensitive and insightful masterclasses with my students at university, I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Earl's passing-too young.Indeed he was talented, but also a person who worked from deeply in his soul. One could sense that immediately when hearing him play, or collaborating with him, on works such as The Four Last Songs by Richard Strauss, as I had the honor to do. He touched so many,. I will miss him. Susan...
