Not sure what to say?

My father worked out with Earl Clark at his Chula Vista gym. This would have been back in the 1970's. I remember going there a few times as a kid. We fished a couple times in the bay with Earl and was lucky enough to visit his Avocado Ranch in North County. Even in his sixties, Earl was strong as an ax. Very nice man and lovely wife.

I didn't realize until today I lost a wonderful friend and incredible mentor. Below is the letter I sent to him in December of 2009 sharing my admiration for for him and how he changed my life. May God bless and keep you always my friend.

Dear Earl,

Please forgive me as this letter is long overdue. I...

My deepest condolences to Caroline and Kent, and his extended family. Today over some 14 months since Earl passed into sleep in the memorial tombs I have learned of his passing. We were in the same congregation in Chula Vista, Ca. Earl was a great friend and brother. He helped me during my initial early years of my struggles with Crohns Disease. We losr touch after he left Chula Vista and moved to Bonsall, Ca. But I have thought of him through the years. Although he sleeps in death, he is...

My deepest condolences to Earls family. I trained with Earl at his gym in Chula Vista, Ca for many years. He was a major positive influence in my life. I am still training today at age 73.

Sorry to hear of your loss!

Just heard about Earl's passing. I remember eating at the long tables out by the willow tree in mammie's and papa's back yard when I was a child and you and Earl being there. I'm so sorry for your loss. I am Morgan's youngest child

Linda Irby Sanders called me today to find out if I had heard about Earl and I told her no. Even though family sometimes is far apart and very seldom see each other it does not mean that the love is not there. I love you and my prayer is that God will watch over all of you and that you will feel his presence and peace.

I just yesterday ran across a picture of Earl. I took it to the gym this a.m. and shared it with my personal trainer along with what I knew of him. Upon returning home I looked for him online and that is how I learned of his death. I am sorry for your loss. I hope that you can find peace during this difficult time. I will keep you in my thoughts. Love, your cousin Linda
