We were privileged to have known him, a man who personified all the best as an Army officer, a gentleman, a wonderful father, and a devoted husband. I first learned how engineers think from Earl Daly explaining how to assemble a lawn sweeper in our adjoining backyards in Karlsruhe, Germany.
