Earl William Fiddler, 90, of Stephenson, Virginia, died Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at a local Nursing Home.

Mr. Fiddler was born on February 14, 1914, in Frederick County, Virginia, the son of the late Charles William and Verdie Frances Harman Fiddler. He was a retired carpenter having worked for Herman Godlove Construction Company. He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church at Stephenson.

His wife, Joy Lee Webber Fiddler, whom he married on December 21, 1935 in Winchester, Virginia, preceded him in death on March 1, 1995.

He is survived by his daughter, Jean Fiddler Streit, of Mechanicsville, Virginia, his son, Edwin Earl Fiddler, of Stephenson, Virginia, a grandson, Kevin Thomas Streit and his wife, Edna, of Richmond, Virginia, a great-grandson, Earl Byron Streit, of Richmond, Virginia, a brother–in–law, B. Blair Webber, and his wife, Betty, of Winchester, Virginia, a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Ewing, and her husband, Lewis M., of Winchester, Virginia; a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. He was the last immediate member of his family.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 28, 2005, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with the Reverend Neil Hough officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, on Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00 PM.
