It was with much sadness I learned of Earl's death. As a child I was so impressed when he went as a missionary to China. Having been a friend to my sister, Tennie (Billie Fay) I felt I was also a friend. Mother was so proud of him as well and kept up with his work. Later in the '90's we crossed paths again at Duncanville Genealogy meetings and I was so glad to see him again. What a wonderful life he lead and how blessed this earth was to have him. Earl was one of the kindest, gentlest people I've ever known. He was the perfect pastor to his flock. Although his preaching style was low-key and understated, I learned so much from his thought-provoking sermons. I also considered him a dear friend and will always remember the great joy he took in presiding over my wedding.
