During his years of retirement I always missed the good will and fun of Earl Heffner. He was a pleasure. A good friend, a valuable colleague, and a fine lawyer. His military service was exemplary. My deepest sympathy to his family on your great loss. I'm so sorry to not be available in person to express these wishes.

Kay,
I am so sorry to hear of Heffy's passing. He was a wonderful man and I know he fought hard these past months to try to overcome his illness. My thoughts and prayers are with you, and your family.

My heart goes out to you at this time and in the days ahead.
