Earl Swanigan

Mr. Swanigan's Cat Art, featured by Sheila Bridges in Elle Decor magazine August 2020 edition, inspired me to create a series: Paris Flea Market Catwalk based on his black cat very stylized in a1970's dress on a red background. Earl always made me laugh. He had a sweetness and generosity and warmth you don't see often in the world. I am so sad that to hear of his death. I cried when I heard the news. I used to bring him paint, syrup buckets-things to paint on and he was always kind and a good listener. His take on life was funny and he worked hard making and selling his art. Its heartbreaking news. My condolences to his family.

Earl told me that they asked him to speak in church one time.
