He was one of my mentors, and I learned a lot from him. I miss both him and Lee. Harry Pomeeroy, WHS Class of '52.

Lee,
When I attended WHS , back in the days and classes of your sisters Doris and Shirley, we had little connection with Earl. I was always happy to see the two of you at the Blue Bonnet re-unions. I'm sorry for your loss. I still have pleasant thoughts of your Mother, brother etc. Keep your fond memories of Earl close to your heart especially during the coming holidays.

The world has lost a great man. I believe a little bit of Earl is in each of the students he taught and coached. He was an amazing role model for many. The world needs more mentors and teachers just like Earl Tonet. He was indeed a gift to many. Lee, i know you will miss him, but you are fortunate to have so many memories in your dear sweet heart. Love you dearly.

I graduated 40 years ago from Hampshire Regional and knew him directly only as a history student, in his WWI and WWII and modern European history courses. But everyone knew Mr Tonet! I remember him as strict, competent, respected, professional, and respectful; always...
