Rev. Earldene Mccorvey

Rev. Earldene McCorvey, 74, died suddenly Monday (December 14, 2009) at his residence. He was a native of Moultrie but had lived in Waycross since 1978. He was son of the late Alton Buck McCorvey and Dorothy Taylor McCorvey. He was Associate Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church and had served in the ministry for 44 years. He was ordained in 1968 and was a 1974 graduate of the Florida Baptist College in Gracewell, FL. Survivors include his wife, Betty S. McCorvey of Waycross; three sons, Tommy E. McCorvey (wife Julia) of Pensacola, FL, Keith McCorvey and Kyle McCorvey (wife Debbie) both of Waycross; five grandchildren, Kori McCorvey (wife Kim), Brock McCorvey (wife Courtney), Kodi McCorvey (wife Victoria), Erin McCorvey, Justin McCorvey; two great grandchildren, Landon Brock and Kali Piper; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday (December 17, 2009) at Central Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Music Funeral Home Wednesday night from 6 until 9. The Deacons of Calvary Baptist Church, the Auditorium Sunday School Class, and all area ministers are requested to meet at Central Baptist Church Thursday at 1:40 p.m. to serve as honorary pallbearers.
