Earle, it is June 23, 2017 and it is sturgeon season at the mouth of the Columbia and salmon season soon. Olivia, Kade and I will do a little "catching" for you. Earle, you were never a great fan of fishing but you sure loved catching!! My first experience with you and your family was "hauling" your catch from the "Ginnie II" to Kirk's Fish Factory to have them taken care of. Later, as a college student you showed me so much kindness...introducing me to the many "Lumber Barrens" during...

Earle, you really made me feel welcome in Portland on several occasions. Thanks for introducing me and my colleagues to the best steak in town, for beautiful bottles of wine, your great company, and for all your support for our work in cancer research!

Earle - you've been a great friend and a friend of Germany. You will be missed and remembered as a kind and wonderful gentleman who has given and done so much for the community. May you rest in peace. Gott schenke dir die ewige Ruhe und das ewige Licht.

The soccer club Kempten (Germany) grieves for a longtime friend. Earle M. Chiles supported a lot of our youngsters with their team trips to the US.
We will always keep him in loving memory...

Earle was a regular at my 4:30 PM Saturday Vigil Mass. He always arrived early to spend time in prayer and memory. He was unendlingly kind and generous to me personally. The generosity he had for my parish and its restoration dreams is deeply appreciated and remembered. He was a good man! Rest in peace, Earle!

Earle your fun spirit will live on in my soul. Thanks for all the help in the fight against cancer.
