Malden ~ Earlene Elizabeth Bailey, 93 of Malden, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at her residence in Malden, Missouri.
Earlene, daughter of Raymond C. and Willie R. Foster Berry, was born Thursday, October 3, 1929 in Tallapoosa, Missouri.
She excelled in Retail Sales and Customer Service at Goldsmith's Department Store. She was an avid volunteer at the Bootheel Youth Museum, nursing homes and many other places in the City of Malden and was also a Chamber Maid. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Malden.
On November 15, 1953 in Hernando, Mississippi, she was united in marriage to Billy G. Bailey. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2018.
Her survivors include one daughter, Lisa Dahlquist and husband John of Laguna Niguel, California; two grandchildren, Erik and William Dahlquist; and one brother, Larry Berry and wife, Peggy of Warsaw, Missouri; three sisters, Cecilia “Pet” Olinger and husband, Don of Glennonville, Sherry “Bug” George and husband, Bobby of Malden, Yvonna “Doodie” Johnson of Malden; brotherly-nephew, Thomas Berry and wife, Janie of Pollard, Arkansas and a very special “Aunt Teen” to many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sandra Cox; three brothers, Junior Berry, Clifford Berry, Solon Berry; three sisters, Curtis Fern, Ruth Launis and Maryland Allen.
Visitation will be from 10 - 11 a.m., Thursday, July 20, 2023 at the Landess Funeral Home and Crematory in Malden. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Aulden LeBlanc officiating. Interment will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield at 2 p.m.
Landess Funeral Home and Crematory of Malden will be in charge of arrangements.
