Earlene Macklin was born on August 24, 1949 in Frenchman's Bayou, AR to John Lockhart and Mosie Lee Sullivan. She was a retired teacher's aide for Rivercrest High School and was a member of St. John Full Gospel in Osceola, AR where she sung on the Praise Team and was on the Hospitality Staff. Mrs. Macklin passed away at her home in Grand Prairie, TX on July 9, 2025 at the age of 75. She is preceded in death by her father John Lockhart, her mother Mosie Lee Sullivan, her husband Albert Macklin, seven brothers and one sister Ruthie Sykes. She is survived by three sons Gerron (Labridgette, Booker) Macklin of Mansfield, TX, Darwin (Lisbeth) of Colorado Springs, CO and Demetrius Macklin of Grand Prairie, TX, four brothers Joes Washington of Joiner, AR, Maurice Washington of Birmingham, AL, Kevin Love of Joiner, AR and Jerry Love of Marion, AR, four sisters Retha Hudson of Detroit, MI, Verla Harding of Benton Harbor, MI, Betty Bryant of Waterford, MS, Deborah Bass of Detroit, MI and one step-sister Essie Wilkerson of Chicago, IL, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren a host of other friends and many relatives. The visitation will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola, AR. The funeral will be held at Bethlehem M.B. Church in Osceola, AR on Monday July 21, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. with the burial to follow at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola, AR. Pastor Patrick Jackson will be officiating.

I am fortunate to work with Ms. Earlene's son, Demitrius. I unfortunately never had the opportunity to meet Ms. Earlene but it is clear she was a wonderful and loving woman who was respected by many. I got a chance to meet this beautiful woman one time while I was playing basketball with her son DMack in Mesquite at the gym, I could tell she was a wonderful woman to be around. She will be missed a ton!

Auntie, you will be missed. Your laughs, your talks, you coming to my house or mom house on the holidays. Everything about you. You are now healed and with God resting. We love you and will miss you.

I've only met Mrs. Macklin a couple of times. However, the love and the spirit she possesses makes you feel like you are family. Praying that God provide the family with strength and courage to deal with the loss.
