I knew Ed from his practice of bikram yoga, where his intensity and vitality were clearly evident. My love and thoughts are very strongly with Kay and their children.

I worked with Ed at HP in Corvallis. He was an excellent manager and always very fair. I was part of the 2001 work force reduction and Ed was kind enough to let me work in his department doing some temporary work after leaving HP. He was very kind to let me come back and it helped my family. He was supportive of me and made me feel like part of his team and not an outsider. I will always be greatful to Ed.

I fondly remember my conversations with Ed when we worked together at HP. He was a gentle, down-to-earth man.

What a guy. Family, fitness, great attitude...this man had it TOGETHER.
I will miss his smiling face at local races and admire his wife immensely for running the Portland Marathon Sunday as Ed would have wanted. He cared deeply for others and lived the life to the fullest. Why must the good ones be so often taken early from us? Perhaps to remind us to not take things for granted and to live our dreams? I wish peace to Ed's family.
