Dear Mrs. Edith and family, Joel and I were very sorry to hear of Mr. Ed's passing. May our Lord bring you much grace and peace during this sad time in your life. I came to live with Major Mae when I was 15 yrs. old. We became mother and daughter right off. Through living with her I came to know so many men and women on the S.A. board. Mr. Ed and Mr. Harvy Hamrick reached out to me more than the rest, I guess. I was invited by my mama Mae to your beach house every year but I never did get...

I was so sorry to hear of Ed's passing. Please know that I am holding you all in my thoughts, prayers and heart. I have wonderful childhood memories of playing at your home growing up and your dad coming home from work greeting me with his jovial demeanor. He was a wonderful man and well respected citizen in Shelby. My best wishes to you all!

Edith and family, We know loosing Ed is a great loss to those still here and that he will be greatly missed. I will always remember him as a tall, handsome, kind Southern gentleman! We are so blessed to have known him. .....and may that legacy live on through his boys. Love , Beth and Jim Lovette. ( the other James Lovette)
