Ed Lysaght Jr., 74, died peacefully at home Wednesday morning.  Ed was born in Lowell, MA and grew up in West Springfield, currently a resident of Agawam.  A 1969 graduate of West Springfield High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served two tours on the River Patrol Boats during the Vietnam War.  After his discharge, he worked as a pipe fitter.  Ed was a former Commander of the Springfield Yacht Club, was an avid "Indian" Motorcyclist and Radio Control Airplane Pilot.  He will be deeply missed by his daughter Holly Sweatt and granddaughter Kyra Mayhew both of Westfield, MA.  The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Monday, August 5th at 10:00am followed by a graveside service in Agawam Center Cemetery at 11:00 am.  Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.  For online condolences please visit curranjones.com.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

I cant believe you have been gone a year already. I miss you.

I met ed in West Springfield on the boulevard one winter morning he was shoveling snow n i was on my quad plowing snow for people n i dropped the plow n did his driveway free of charge after that i saw him at Dunkin donuts in agawam n he got me a coffee n we became friends after that i always saw him at the laundry mat early in the morning on a weekend he was a hell of a great guy if ed didn't like u you would no it you will be missed my friend keep on riding fred

I met Ed from riding motorcycles he loved his Indians last spoke to him at DD may you RIP friend

I'm so sorry to hear this news and although we have not spoken much in the last couple of years. He will always be in my heart. Ed was one of the sweetest men I have known. He had a hard shell but when you break through it, he would do anything for a friend. he will be greatly missed. May his memory be a blessing.
