Ed, Best flight instructor and pilot and is missed

My condolences to Judy and the Savader Family.

Ed taught me to fly nearly 20 years ago. He was my mentor and truly my inspiration in the aviation community. I'm still an active pilot and I share my experiences with Ed on a daily basis. They broke the mold when they made Ed. He was truly one of kind. So many great memories flying with Ed. He helped shape my career in aviation and the valuable life lessons he taught me helped make me into the man I am today. He will be missed. ...

Happy 2nd Birthday in Heaven Dad. I miss you so much.
Sharon

To the Savader family:
I'm so saddened to just learn of Ed's passing. As a six foot tall 16 year old, eager to learn all there was to learn about flying, Ed in his compact form was still larger than life. I have so many fond memories of hours spent in Alpha, discusing our pre and post flight lessons using the wing as a desk. Who could forget N20861, N1469X,757GJ (GJ for Gorgeous Judy, or N5315L? How about draining the "water" out of the tail?
Now a 43 year old father of two, I can...

Dear Ed,

I am truly saddened today as I learn of your passing. I have so many fond memories of as I grew up.
I want to thank you for giving me my start as an aviator. It's now Captain Michael Klarman B767 for Delta Airlines. I hope I can always live up to your expectations .
I will truly miss you. Hope you and my Dad are flying together
again in N20861.
Sincerely Michael D Klarman.....

Ed, very sorry I didn't get the chance to say good bye after spending days and years in the Apha -Area learning to fly with you.
Still got the lumps behind my head from your heavy hands. I think you would be proud of me now with all the jet aircraft I fly.
Forever thinking f you.... Your Friend Neil Azar

Thank you Eddie for giving me the chance of a lifetime; learning to fly. Miss you and the great afternoons hangin' at Republic. Happy Birthday in heaven where the sky is always clear!

'Flying Eddie' was a loved & treasured family friend of ours for over 40 years. My husband & our two sons obtained their Private Pilot's licenses under his excellent instruction. He saved my husband's life once after an accident. Eddie is as close to being 'family' to us as anyone could ever be. We will always remember him and love him dearly.
RIP Dear Friend

Love you and miss you Grandpa Butchie! Wishing you could have met your great granddaughter but I know you'll be watching over her from heaven.
