Not sure what to say?

I've been working in my home office and I came across one of Eda's hand-made, personalized birthday greetings. She still has the ability to bring a smile to my face.

Still miss seeing you at the dance.

I often think of Eda, as I am still teaching at the Downtown Elementary School, and an art teacher still comes after school to work with kids in my classroom. No one will ever fill her shoes. She had an extra special connection to children and a way of making them love art. I also miss having her in my life as a friend. She was a dear person.

I always think of Eda around her birthday month. I also think of her when I come across some little note or special memento that she made for me.

I have been thinking of Eda a lot lately. I have been teaching extra art lessons at school, in preparation for a field trip to the Norton Simon Museum of Art. Whenever I get involved with art, I think of how Eda inspired the students at Downtown Elementary School and me. I miss having her in my life.

Mrs. Davis (Eda) taught my daughter art at the Downtown Elementary School many years ago. She was a wonderful artist, teacher and person. I have a piece of her art work hanging in my office. It's a beautiful tiger. My thoughts of her today brought me to the internet. Thinking of added another piece of her art work to the one I have. I was deeply sadden to discover she had passed away. I wish her family strength and peace during their time of sorrow.

Eda was my next door neighbor for over 20 years. I am shocked and so saddened to hear of her passing. I have several of her paintings in my home. They will always bring fond memories of the many years that we shared a fence and friendship.

This is from a very happy time that we spent together.

It was so comforting to be among your friends and family today. It was a beautiful day, and the minister said such nice things about you. Thank you for being such a good friend and such an inspirational Arts educator to the children of Downtown Elementary School. You have touched so many lives on your earthly journey. I feel very fortunate to have known you, my friend. Much love, always and forever.
