Edalyn Doris Lalli

I was saddened to hear that Edalyn has passed away. She was a beautiful and gracious lady. The first time I heard her sing was at Marios on Tremont, 37 years ago. I was lucky enough to hear her voice many times at the different places in the desert always so strong and so familiar. Her and Marios love of the arts inspired me and influenced my view of the world. I have thought of her often and fondly throughout my adult life. I will miss her.

We were so sad to here Edalyn has passed away. Singing at Mario's was one of the great highlights of my life. Edalyn was a wonderful talented lady. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mario and his family.

A wonderful lady that I will never forget. I was a tenet at the Chickory address and I am so grateful to her for allowing me to reside at her property and for all the invitations she extended to the restaurant during the holidays. I always loved the way she referred to her husband as "Poppa"

We were so saddened to hear of Mrs. Lalli's passing! We, like so many others, have wonderful, joyous memories of so many good times at Mario's (in LaQuinta). It was our favorite place in the desert for many years and a "mandatory" destination for visiting family and friends. We were not able to go to Mario's after they moved and we truely have missed that part of our life. We have known the Lalli's from the early 1980's. We followed them from 111 to to Palm Desert. We were always greated at the door by Edalyn's smile. What a sweet lady and she had a beautiful voice too. Both Mario and Adelyn asked me to sing which was a lovely compliment, that was always fun. Many of our friends came with us for special birthdays and anniversaries to celebrate and enjoy...

We were saddened to learn that this wonderful voice has been stilled, a voice and a charming manner that lifted us so many times over the past 20 years, first in Rancho Mirage, then in La Quinta, and finally in Palm Desert. Whenever our family visited us, they always wanted to go to Mario's.

Thank you for printing the notice in the Denver Post . My father was the chef ( Jack Cruz ) at the Mario's on Lincoln , Broadway and later on Tremont st. Both Mario and Edalyn were the very best to my family, I have many fond memories of them both. I learned to play on the grand piano in the dining room on Tremont street. We were invited to their home here in Denver for many Holidays growing up . Their love of music and the arts inspired me , and I have carried that with me my entire...

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I will always remember what a fun loving group the Lalli's were and enjoyed working at Marios for 11 years and getting to know the whole family. Thanks for the memories.

Janet and I are graduates of Colorado College ('55, '56) and send our condolences to the Lalli family. We have followed the restaurant from Denver to Pasadena and have fond memories of the fine music always presented. We live down the street from Cafe 322 and I have written several music reviews of that restaurant. We both wish we knew of the Colorado College connection. The Lallis have added a great deal to all our lives and Mrs. Lalli will be remembered fondly.
