Not sure what to say?

When I was a student at Charleston Southern University, for two years I worked in the ER at Trident Hospital. That's where I met Dr. Chariker. I had an interest in medicine and Dr. Chariker gave me his listening year. If he had a surgery in the evening when I was working, he would see me and say " I'm doing surgery, wanna watch?" What a remarkable man, what a man of grace. I'm just now learning of his passing, but from what I'm reading it appears that he and I will meet again in our heavenly...

You were always so very kind to share your knowledge with me. It truly helped me to grow as a nurse, and to enjoy my profession so much more. And you and Fredda were both good friends to me. Thanks for all, Edd. You are never forgotten. Pamela Allison

I have very fond remembrances of Edd. He was a gifted surgeon and a true gentleman. I will never forget him, or all that he taught me; and the good times we passed as colleagues in the ICU. He always thanked the entire team for for our participation following any crisis, successful or not. He is fondly remembered.

Edd was both my mentor and my dear friend. I also worked with Fredda for a short time before she retired. I learned practically all I know about CT surgery from Edd. He was one of the most kind and polite gentlemen I ever knew. I also learned how to talk to patients from him. I remember him with thankfulness and only fond memories.

I must say how terribly sad I was to hear of Dr. Chariker's passing. In Dec. 1992, our family received terrible news that my father had lung cancer. I was working for a physician at that time and had heard of Dr. Chariker. My father was from Mullins, SC and he came to Charleston for his care. Dr. Chariker was one of his physicians, among many others, but he topped the list. He had an incredible way of comforting our family. I just have to say that I have never met anyone like him, in his...

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of your loss. Dr. Chariker was my husband's doctor for many years. I am so saddened by his passing. May you take comfort in knowing he is at peace and in God's hands now.

Dear Sarah Anne and Family,
I am so saddened to read about your father passing away. I'm thinking about you and send my heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
With deepest sympathy,
Marissa

Edd was my physician mentor, my colleague for many years, and also my cherished friend. He is the wonderful man who gave birth to and nurtured my life-long love of cardiac surgery. Fredda is dearly loved as well. Gone, but still alive in my heart.

To the Chariker Family
I was a patient of Dr. Chariker's and when I first met him I was so apprehensive about my vein surgery.

Right from the start he put me at ease and explained everything to me.
I found him to be kind, caring and compassionate. A "true gentlemen" with an amazing bedside manner.
I am so sorry for your loss.
