Eddie Gault, Sr. 1941-2016 Edwin "Eddie" J. Gault, Sr., 75, of Belmont, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Washington, D. C. and was the son of the late Issac "Ike" and Mabel Stuart Gault. Eddie was a graduate of Holbrook High School and was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. Eddie retired as a Superintendent with Pharr Yarns, Inc. after 25 years service. After retiring he was owner and operator of Gault Express for 8 years. Eddie loved golf and would go to many Golf Tournaments to help people in need. He was also fond of playing cards. Eddie followed in his father's footsteps with operating Produce Stands. He attended Grace Baptist Church. Eddie is survived by his wife of 27 years, Teresa Vanderford Gault; one daughter, Caroline Gault of Gastonia; two sons, Edwin "Joey" Gault, Jr. and wife Hope of Gaffney, Michael Jarod Gault and wife Nicole of Lowell; two step-sons, Bryan Rife and Shane Elks of Belmont; two sisters, Brenda Jenkins and husband Jerry of Gastonia, Renee Roseberry of Dallas; one brother, Jerry Gault and wife Sherrie of Myrtle Beach; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home and A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016 in the Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Poteat officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Belmont with Military Honors by the U. S. Air Force and the Gaston Honor Guard followed by the Releasing of the Doves.
