Eddie Ray Hager Sr., 72 of Ransom, KY, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at his residence. Eddie was born on April 14, 1952 in Pike County, KY the son of the late William and Dorothy Rose Hager. He was also preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Jim Reed and Floyd Noe. Eddie was a former coal miner and an avid banjo player who loved bluegrass music. Eddie was also of the Baptist faith.


Survivors include his wife, Delphia Ann McCoy Hager; his children, Eddie Ray (Rachel) Hager Jr. of Pikeville, KY and Libby (Larry) Slone of Ransom, KY; his sisters, Linda Noe of Belfry, KY, Phyllis Reed of Sidney, KY and Rita Hager of Ransom, KY; his grandchildren, Tyler Hager, Jonathan Aldana, and Chloe Hager; one great-grandchild, Kason Hager and a host of other loving family members and friends.


Private graveside services will be held at the Willie Jake Hager Cemetery, Ransom, KY, with Eddie's family and friends serving as pallbearers. R.E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, KY is serving the Hager family. Online condolences may be made at rerogersfh.com.

Heartbroken to hear about Eddie Ray. My mind goes back to so many precious childhood memories. He was like a brother to me. We may have been apart but he was thought of often. So talented and loved.

I knew Eddie years and years ago.We went to Blackberry Grade School and Belfry High School together and graduated in 1970.
Eddie was very kind and would help anyone at anytime when needed.
He was a very good friend to me.
