EDDIE HAMPTON

Eddie Hampton LYNWOOD, IL - Eddie Hampton, age 78, of Lynwood, Illinois, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side on February 24, 2018. Eddie was born February 15, 1940 in Bluefield, West Virginia to the late Raymond and Viola (Taylor) Hampton. Also preceding him in death are his loving wife for over 40 years, Carol (Duff) Hampton; brothers, Louis Hampton and Howard Hampton; and a sister, Brenda Hampton. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Santina (Harry) Edgerton and Patrick (Stephanie) Hampton; grandchildren, Brandi (Tim) Chynoweth, Craig (Katie) Decker, Samantha (Charlie) Hampton, Jessica and Nicole Hampton; and a great grandson, Stephen Gorman. His family relocated to Chicago Heights in the late 1940's. This transition instilled in him the values of hard work, dedication, and taking care of family. At 74, he retired as a crane operator at (Metron) Primary Steel in Chicago. He loved to go to car shows with his son, and was an avid motorcyclist. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with a celebration of life at 7:00 p.m. at CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME (8178 Cline Ave.; Crown Point, IN 46307).
