When Ed and Marie learned to square dance, Bill and I were in the same class. It was so much fun and led to many years of great friendships. Ed and I worked together at Smiths Industries as well. Long after we stopped dancing, our standard greeting at SI retirement luncheons was the square dance call, "Stick out your hand, Left Alamande"! Our sincere condolences to Marie and their family in Ed´s passing. May precious memories comfort you at this difficult time.

I met Ed in the fall of 1974 and formed a friendship that lasted nearly 50 years. It takes a special person to sustain that type of relationship and Ed was very special. He was a rarity and it saddens me he is no longer with us. I will miss him. Rest in peace Ed.

We were good friends from the time they moved to Rockford - introduced them to other parishioners at our New Year's Party, and was asked to be Carrie's Godparents. Ed will be sorely missed, and prayers for Marie and family will go on.

At his 80th birthday party (we were the only "outsiders" to be invited, and I had to hold my tongue from making many sly remarks to his speech of thanksgiving for the party. But we had many tender...
