Not sure what to say?

Dear Alva, I am Thinking of You. What a Blessing to be married for over 50 years to this Great Man, Edgar Lawrence "Dooky" Chase III. Blessings To You and Yours, Henrietta Augustus Harris Fort Worth, Texas

May your family and friends be with you always. Dooky will always be by your side. He will never be forgotten.

Edgar was my colleague and my friend at Dillard University for 8 years from 1991 to 1999. He was always friendly and a pleasure to be around. He also liked to tell me about his twins. I remember when he sent them to Italy to study for the summer and how thrilled he was as a father that the twins were going to Florence, Italy. Whenever I came to New Orleans I would try and look Edgar up and see what he was doing. He will be missed by many people. May God comfort his family as they mourn...

Hey Big Daddy, I just want to that we miss you and we think about you alot! We know you are in a better place now though, I love you.

Prayers, condolences, and peace to the family. I am so sorry for your loss.

Saddened and thankful for your life and legacy Edgar "Dooky" Chase. Meeting and collaborating at Loyola won my admiration and belief in your expectations and dreams for the future. You started on that path with being elected the first African American president of the SGA. And by reading your obituary you never wavered from that dream and vision. "Well done good and faithful servant; enter into the joy of your Lord"

A beautiful family legacy in New Orleans of delicious original cuisine and good fellowship. We enjoyed our visit when in the city. Thank you for the memories.

Just like family. I grew up in the Treme. My mom knew the family well. May he rest in peace. Fond memories.

MY DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO ALL OF DOOKIE'S FAMILY! I ALWAYS ENJOYED GOING TO THAT BEAUTIFUL PLACE WITH ALL THAT LOVING CHASE FAMILY ATMOSPHERE! MUCH LOVE ALWAYS IN RETURN! PEACE, BLESSINGS!
