Not sure what to say?

It was my honor and privilege to meet and know Dr.Codd personally and professionally, and I will cherish his grace and wit. For all his achievements, and they are legendary, I was struck by his simplcity and his efforts to put me at ease when I asked him to technical questions. Great individuals let their achievements speak for themselves and do not need to put on airs to impress others. He epitomized that, and I will miss him.

My father brought home a paper on relational databases by Ted Codd when I was still in high school. It was some years after that before any DBMS software actually existed for me to use, but I found my way into the database management profession as soon as the software was available. I have worked in this area for almost 20 years now. Many thanks and good memories to Dr. Codd.

Rest in peace, dear Professor

My gratitude to Dr. Codd and deepest sympathy to the family for the his loss.

As an IBMer who has worked with Relational Databases since the birth of SQL/DS and DB2, I want to say thank you for all Dr. Codd has done and meant to us in this field. Without his great work, we would not be where we are today. Much appreciation and deepest sympathy to the family in your personal loss.

All of us who make our living in the Information Technology industry own Dr. Codd our thanks and graditude for his brilliance and creativity as evidenced by the fact that his name and work will live on for decades to come.
