Lt. Commander Edgar Turley (Trey) Higgins, III Raleigh If we are lucky enough in life, we may meet someone who is willing to give everything and yet ask for nothing in return. Or, meet a person whose talent or achievement inspire and make us grow. Or, know a person who made us feel like we were...

Not sure what to say?

I miss you, my good friend. We had good times.

I met Trey at NAS Whiting Field while we were in flight school. Never saw or spoke to him again after he left for jet training. One night at TJ´s there was a blues band playing and between sets I saw Trey talking to the guitar player. Minutes later I hear the first notes of Red House. Turn around and there´s Trey on stage just smokin´ it. The night SRV died we drank tequila together to mourn his passing. My friendship with Trey was short, but I still miss 30+ years later.

With love. PH

There was Higgins on the thermal
today the eagle

Along the Coosawhatchie
Higgins leaned back into
a whale call on is Fender

That Stratocaster making sounds
I had never heard
That man's heart darted
up beyond the lowland trees
casted into stratus

Trey, you were a bright light in this world, and you are missed. Sending you Love + Peace, Chandler

Trey rest in peace. Man I can still hear your guitar and feel it's whale-song across the lowcountry air on the Coosawhatchie River.

I can see you hiking to the ridge top in the Beartooths and see you ahead of me on the highway in my VW.

I remember you hopping out of the car to thumb your way back, thousands of miles, spontaneously.

Wishing you well, with thanks.

You will be well missed Sting. Now you can truly soar with the eagles and bring Kojak along for the ride.

Take care Ripper brother.
Tomcats Forever

I actually heard the story of flying with the eagle from him personally. Was very saddened to hear of his passing. He was a very complex person and am thankful I knew him for the time that I did. RIP. BC

My sincere condolences to the Higgins family. At times like these, God can give us "power beyond what is normal" so we can keep going from one day to the next. (2 Cor.4:7) May your memories continue to bring you comfort.
