Not sure what to say?

Eddie (as I called him) was one of the finest guys I had the privilege to get to know during my time in Bethlehem. We often sat and watched the Eagles or the Phillies while Grace (my mother), whom he married in his 80th year, did whatever women do while sports is on the TV. I always enjoyed getting home to Bethlehem during their last years, partly because Eddie kept me laughing, and I tried to do the same for him. He was a very generous and kind and engaging stepfather. I miss him.

With respect and condolences. Bill & Steve Kreglow

Dear Anne, Bob and Ted,

Your Dad was a special guy. I loved seeing him at Kirkland and we would catch up on all the news...specially concerning Lehigh. He had such a good sense of humor. Our families have a long history and I feel lucky to have know both your parents.. No doubt both Ed and Ben had something to do with Lehigh's upset over Duke. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

We were honored to meet Mr. Howells at Lisette's and Andy's engagement party. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

I am at the NCAA Wrestling tournament in St Louis tonight and I attended the Lehigh Alumni Awards committe meeting last Saturday. Your father, Mr Howells as I will forever know him and remember him (even when he insisted I call him Ed) would have been here beside me as a guiding force whether to cheer on our "Engineers" on the mat or do our homework as a member of the Lehigh Alumni Association Awards committee in selecting the best candidates for the highest honor...

Mr. Howells was a great Phi and a great Lehigh alumnus. It was always a pleasure when I got to say hello down at the Club. I'm sure you're smiling with Lehigh's big win over Duke.

Ed Howells certainly ranks as one of Pennsylvania Eta's most loyal and supportive brothers of all time.
The memory of his many contributions and his warm friendship will always be treasured.

In coelo quies est.

Anne, Bob and Ed,
Your dad holds a special place in the hearts of those at Kirkland who knew and loved him. He will be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

As a fellow Phi Delt, I can attest that Ed gave much time and effort to both our fraternity and the university. Although we were separated by distance after I graduated and moved to Cincinnati, it was always a pleasure to see Ed at alumni fraternity events. While I was at the Phi Delt chapter, he gave much guidance and support to the actives of our organization. I am thankful to have known him and he will be missed by all.

Yours in the Bond,

Mike Halloran
