It was my great privilege to have met Edgar and Hana and write about them when they attended a Defiant Requiem performance in Berlin in which their sons sang. I have interviewed hundreds of personalities from presidents down but my talk with them stands out as a great lesson in human strength, dignity and simply kindness. May they both rest in peace. My deepest condolences. Edgar was a phenomenol man, and a wonerful influence in the lives of my three children and their many classmates. He came to speak at Kerem Shalom in Concord and at my children's schools and each time he was able to meet children where they were, and tell them in a relatable and impactful way about his expereince of survival. His contributions were enormorus and his legacy will carry on.
May his memory be a blessing to you and all your family.

Danny, Tatjiana and Family, I last saw your beloved father, father-in-law & grand-dad at the performance of Defiant Requiem in Boston. Although I did not know him, it was evident that Edgar created a beautiful legacy through his strength and love of his family. What I knew of him I learned through you at German-Jewish dialogue and the wonderful visit in your home during Chanukah. His and Hana's dedication to the Jewish people are symbols of their love of life and a tribute to their survival....

I am a middle school teacher at a school in CT. I had the pleasure of meeting Edgar during a college class at Bay Path College. Every year at this time I teach a unit on the Holocaust. I tell my students about Edgar and how he so deeply touched my life. I just saw this obituary and while looking Edgar up. I am so blessed to have meet him!!!
