Not sure what to say?

My sympathy is extended to all the family! Rest in peace, Ed.

Although we haven't seen Big Ed and Lutie for sometime, they will always be in our memories. John and Verna Kropp Garland, Texas

Thank you, Uncle Ed. Thank you for your sense of humor. Thank you for your sense of timing, while telling a good joke. Thank you for your easy and unforgettable laugh. Thank you for helping to dig that water well for Grandpa Mumford at WeeDee Acres, out on Livernois Road, in Troy. Thank you for the stories and laughter, as the family gathered around that big round oak table in Grandma's dining room. Thank you, from me and from Pokey, for the patience and love you always showed for your pets....

I do love the story in the guestbook about the Fairhope Yacht Club men's room--it's so fun and so typical of him. Uncle Ed was a tease. He had so much fun making other people smile!

It was always a pleasure to be with Ed, and, over the years, I was fortunate to be able to visit him and Lutie in Alabama a few times, as well as having them visit us in Colorado. He was very proud of Fairhope and the beautiful areas nearby, and the Fairhope Yacht Club seemed to hold a special...

And always playful--Ed & his nephew Mike, 1948

Always a "car guy": Ed in 1947

My earliest recollection of Uncle Ed was my Mom's description of him as her kid brother. I thought she said this because she was 9 years older and he was an annoying kid, always getting in the way. But later I guessed because of Ed's big sense of humor, what she really meant is he was a kidding brother.

I graduated from college and started a job near Carrollton, Texas where Uncle Ed and Aunt Lutie lived in the 1980s. I remember them being so helpful because when I arrived I didn't...

As an uncle, Ed was terrific, and extremely likeable. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and never hesitated to share it with others.

When he & Aunt Lutie moved south, it meant we would not see them often, but they always made the effort to head north every year to spend time with loved ones.

I'm very glad I was able to visit them during the 2012 Mardi Gras. As with his parents, and all his siblings, his marriage to Aunt Lutie was truly a love story to the very...

Uncle Ed,
You were my favorite Uncle when I was growing up - probably because you were so very young, and close to my age. I loved your sense of humor and the great jokes you told. Your smile lit up a room like no other. I will miss you greatly, but I will again see you when I get to heaven.
