Edith Ann "Edie" Beck

I first met Edie when she and her family lived on Bainbridge Island during the early 1970s. Her ex-husband and my father knew each other through their association with the maritime service. Though it was long ago, I can remember spending time with the Beck family at their log cabin home near Port Madison. My earliest memories of Edie were that of a warm and hospitable woman who went out of her way to make one feel welcome. Our families lost touch after they had moved to Port Angeles and it...

I am truly saddened to hear of our good friend, Edie. She was the kindest, sweetest woman I ever met. When she and Stan used to visit us in Victoria, we always had a wonderful time together. As Edie´s favourite saying went - "What fun". The world needs more Edies in it.
