Not sure what to say?

Great memories of Aunt Edie although she was my best friend´s Aunt I adopted her as one of my own ; she was always welcoming whether we came by foot or sea to her home. I think of her and her sister Ruth especially at Christmas when I wished I could recall the tasty and powerful simmering Swedish beverage they made on the stove :-) Fondly remember both of them around this anniversary of Aunt Edie´s passing! :-) Betty Jean

Edith was my moms best friend, Barbara Luhrs. They had so much fun together. Edith was a wonderful person.

In memory of Edith Blythe and Jack Blythe.
I came to know them when Jack and I were shipmates with the USS Ludlow in World War II. Jack and Edith were a wonderful pair and Edith was surely a fine lady. I regret that after the war years, we lived in separate communities and did not remain close. During the war Jack, with George W. Mullins, Jr. “Moon Mullins” and I were a very close trio and Jack, the only married man among the three of us with Edith, were wonderful caring people to know.

After reading the previous writings and attending the memorial at the Lobster Inn June 25th, it was so wonderful to see and meet everyone that our Aunt Edie had touched in a special way throughout their lives. She and my mom worked together for tons of years at Weights and Measures and were partners in crime. i loved aunt Edie for making my mom laugh so much! Her stories were always so full of life and she always had a twinkle in her eye and an expression for everything! "he's a good egg,...

Aunt Edith! When I was growing up Aunt Edith and Uncle Jack represented a sophisticated and glamorous world. I felt quite grown up when I was allowed to spend the night with them and they even let me play with the andirons in the fireplace! When I was a little older Aunt Edith taught me to watch birds and we always laughed. I remember Aunt Edith, my Aunt Barbara and my mother in the kitchen at Grandma's house in Hampton Bays at Thanksgivng, sitting on the washing machine to hold it in place...

It is a difficult task trying to write of Ede, Edie, Chap or Chappy.. as she was called in the Dwyer home. There are many wonderful, crazy, laughter-filled moments I remember of the dynamic Edie! She and my mother, Bobbsey, were close , dear friends from high school years...there was always a story to tell of Old Westbury, Westbury or Hampton Bays...some we were priviledged to hear...and some were their own special shared memories that they laughed and laughed over. Our summers in Southampton...

Edith was my grandfathers cousin. My grandfather and Edie wrote to eachother and I translated the letter to swedish and english for my grandfather. Edie and Ruth was visiting grandfather and his family in Sweden longago when they were small. He talked alot of the litle girls from America. When Arne passed away I continued to keep in tough with Edie. 1994 I had started my first work after graduaiting. I had saved some mony and decided to visit my relatives "over there". I can still remember...

What can I say about a great lady,
Aunt Edie, Everybody's Favorite Aunt.
One of my fondest times was when some friends and I bike out to Montauk Point and camp out in the Backyard. The next morning Aunt Edie came out and had breakfast all ready for us on the deck, that's the way to camp!!

Also as a kid I was fascinated with all of the color glass she collected in many jars.

Aunt Edie you will be miss but never forgotten.

Love you always
Barrie

I think I've known Aunt Edie most of my life. My dad Hank Lampe and Uncle Jack were the best of friends. I remember as a child going from our house in Valley Stream to visit them in Hampton Bays. We then moved to Sayville and we would take our boat out to Hampton Bays and stay in a marina so we could all visit together. My Mom passed away in 2001 but she and Edie would find all sorts of mischief to get into. They are all together now and all will be missed!
