I knew Edith and John from my days working at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. She was always smiling and positive about everything. I always looked up to her as a role model for how to deal with life.

Dear Doris,
We loved Edith as we did John and we will always recall the joyous times and adventures we shared in Far Rockaway.
We moved to the city over three years ago and so frequently thought of your mother, longing to visit with her again. Now we are so sorry that didn't happen. When you have the time, please visit us. [email protected]

Doris, Although I never met Edith, I know from you that she was an exceptional woman. And, she has and exceptional daughter.
My deepest sympathies to you and your family.

Relentlessly cheerful and oblivious to her physical travails, Aunt Edith showed us all how to treat each new day as a joy to be enjoyed.
With love and fond memories from her nephew, Billy.

Edith was my friend for the last 35 years. She held the same position at the American Museum of Natural History that I did 45 years before I worked there. Edith volunteered with me and stayed my friend long after I left New York. I will miss her phone calls and just knowing that she was there.

I shall miss my dear cousin Edith whom I spoke to each morning for musical tidbits and family news. She always wanted to keep up with the concert scene and what we heard the night before. She will be greatly missed after 103 years!! Ginger Karren
