Edith and her family were a staple of my childhood, especially Edith with her Sunday visits with my mom. I will always remember her deep creativity, caring, and sense of humor.

Fred- My deepest condolences to you on the passing of your wife Edith. I have the fondest memories of you and Edith coming to my home for many dinners in honor of distinguished visitors to UMass when you were Dean and I was Department Head. Although I am now retired, next year will be my 50th year teaching at UMass (I still do an honors course on Cosmic Evolution every Fall). During my fifty years here you were in my opinion the best university administrator that I knew. My very best to you...
