My dad, Lloyd Messere, was Edie's cousin. By chance, about a decade ago, they discovered that they resided at the same apartent complex in West Warwick. Despite the fact that my dad suffered from dementia and rarely remembered her from week to week, Edie visited with him and my mom on a regular basis.
