IN 1955 I WORKED WITH EDIE WHEN SHE WAS THE COMPANY CLERK, AND WHEN BETTYSUE MCKAIG BECAME THE COMPANY CLERK, EDIE BECAME THE NIGHT CHIEF OPERATOR. WHEN WANDA LOVRJOY AND I TRAINED FOR JSA(JUNIOR SERVICE ASSISTANT), EDIE TRAINED US, FROM EDIE I LEARNED A LOT OF KNOWLEDGE OF THE TELEPHONE COMPANY. WHEN WE WOULD HAVE OUR COMPANY PARTIES, BEANS AND EDIE WERE A SPECIAL TWOSOME. EDIE WILL BE MISSED, BUT WILL ALWAYS BE PART OF MA BELL. THE BOND BETWEEN A MOTHER AND CHILD IS THE MOST PRICELESS...

Patty, I was sorry to hear of your Aunts passing, you must take some comfort in knowing that without your unselfish care and love that her last months would have been so much lonelier and painful and you deserve a metal. I remember many good times with Edie and Beans over the years of my growing up. Your hearts are in my prayers

Your mom and I go way back to July 1955 when I first came to work at the New York Telephone company and when I became a Junior Service Assistant along with Wanda Lovejoy, it was your mom who trained us. I got to know your mom more on a more personal level and that is when she lived on East Shore Drive. We had many a good time at "Ma Bell" including all the phone company parties.
