Not sure what to say?

Edith was such a wonderful person, artist and teacher. She had a huge impact on my life beginning with classes I took with her at HACC in the early 1970's extending into my own career as an art professor. She was a joy and it was a real privilege to know her and enjoy her friendship. She holds a very special place in my heart as I'm sure she does in the hearts of many of the people she blessed in her long life.

My husband Bob Williams and I were so glad we had a chance to visit with Edith and Art in September 2011. That is the first time I met Edith, Roy, and Jeff--Edith was so gracious and welcoming, and obviously talented and very intelligent. I cherished that visit and also to thank Art for hiring me at the PA Geological Survey in Pittsburgh which has and continues to enrich my life in so many ways.

All our best to Carl, Roy, Jeff and their families. My brother, Bob Markowski, retired...

Edith was always so gracious and always showed interest in what you were doing. She made you feel comfortable and at ease in her presence. Edith always took the time to ask about you and your family, she was a true lady. I enjoyed being in her company and learned much from her over the 30+ years I knew her. I will miss her holiday cards as they were always a piece of her art. Our deepest sympathies to Carl, Roy, Jeff, and their families. Donna and Jim Snyder

There is a small sign shop called Walnut Bottom Signs that operates from a loving women who in the fall of 1976 changed an 18 year olds life. She opened up the wonderful world of color to us at HACC. She blessed so many of us with her talents and the willingness to share it. She will be missed. Love you, Miss Edie. In Christ

My dear, dear friend Edith. I love you. What a wonderful person she was. Art has been waiting for you, and you for him. Edith will be missed by everyone who knew her. My condolences and blessings to you Carl, Roy, and Jeff. Your mother was a treasure.

Some 40 years after our parents and grandparents left Europe to head for opposite ends of the globe it was serendipitous for two sides of the family to rediscover each other, How lucky were we to discover Cousin Edith. I will always have warm and happy memories of of our times with Edith in Harrisburg, Melbourne, Hawaii and Gloucester.

Carl, from your mother we see where your joy and love of art comes from.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I will always remember Edith's exuberant spirit, her joyous sense of humor, and her embracing love of life. She knew just how to make everyone around her feel cherished and valued. I remember how grown up I felt when, at the tender age of 9, Edith solemnly hired me to "babysit" for Jeff by pushing his stroller around the block! Most important, perhaps, were the inspirational life lessons that she taught me and so many other young children-- that the grass in our drawings need not be green,...

Dear Edith,
We mourn the passing of our beloved cousin.
We wish we had not been separated by thousands of kilometers, but know the bonds of family transcended our distance apart.
Lots of happy memories of our times together.
Love to Carl, Roy, Jeff and families.
