Jack C. Luse Jack C. Luse, 89, of Lake Monticello, passed away on Wednesday, June, 19, 2013, after a long illness at the Martha Jefferson Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary V. and J. Floyd Luse. He is survived by his life partner of 56 years, James H. Hatchell and Jim's family members. Jack worked for Pan Am airlines for 15 years and more recently for the Oakencroft Winery in the sales room and as a tour guide. He was a World War II United States Navy corpsman and a Silver Star recipient for his actions on Iwo Jima. Interment will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jack's memory can be made to the Lake Monticello Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, 14 Slice Road, Palmyra, VA 22963. Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, Richmond, Virginia, is in charge of arrangements.

Dear Jack also received the Silver Star for his heroism on Iwo Jima.

Just a note in honor of a fellow Navy Vet. I never met Mr. Luse but saw the death notice in the paper and that he was a Navy Corpsman at Iwo Jima. RIP "Doc".
