My deepest sympathy to the Cranch family. Edmund was my dad's - Ernest Pittman's mentor and friend while employed at Cornell University. My father and mother always spoke highly of Edmund. He was a kind-hearted gentleman that displayed great diplomacy and gentleness towards his fellow man. Please know Virginia that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
