Edmund Elmour Davis, Sr, 67, of Derby passed away August 6, 2010 in Lebanon, NH. He was born June 3, 1943 in Barton a son of Rogers and Elsie (Paul) Davis. On October 28, 1960 he married Nancy Pickering who survives him. He graduated from Concord High School in Concord, NH. During his lifetime he was a heavy equipment operator for Dale E. Percy in Stowe, Vt where he retired in 2005. He was a member of the Nulhegan Abenaki Tribal Council. Among his many hobbies he enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, target shooting, and he loved to watch baseball and racing on television. He also loved the out doors. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Nancy Davis of Derby, and by the following children: Edmund E.Davis, Jr and his wife Lisa of Glover, Keith A. Davis and his wife Hope of Orleans, Dwayne A. Davis and his wife Bonnie of Derby, and Bradley J. Davis and his wife Ashley of Orleans. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren, two brothers: Richard Davis, Sr of Kentucky and Douglas Davis Sr of West Charelston and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Christina Davis in 2006. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday August 12, 2010 at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 37 Lake Road, Newport with the Rev. Richard Whitehill officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday August 12, 2010 from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of the funeral. Interment will follow in Brownington Center Cemetery. Should friends desire, contributions in his memory may be made to the Vermont Lung Association, Hurricane Lane, Suite 101,Williston, Vt 05495.
