Edna A. Bowman, 90 of Magnolia, Arkansas passed away Sunday, December 28, 2008 at Magnolia City Hospital. She was born March 7, 1918 in Vivian, Louisiana to the late Benjamin Hughes and Mary Ann (Luttrel) Adams. She was the founder and co-owner of Sno-White Cleaners, a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, and an artist. She was very active with the Garden Club, Girl Scouts, and was considered a master fisherman. Edna was a member of Central Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was active in GA's. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Lloyd Bowman, four brothers, Howard Adams, Morris Adams, Benjamin Adams, Herman, and one sister, Helen Moncrief. She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Marshall and her husband Bill of Placitas, New Mexico, Jeanne Franks and her husband O.A. "Buddy" Franks of Magnolia, Arkansas; five grandsons, Bill Marshall, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Tijeras, New Mexico, Mark Marshall and his wife Karen of Brighton, Colorado, Jay Minmier and his wife Lisa of Corpus Christi, Texas, Christopher Marshall and his wife Davedda of The Woodlands, Texas; William L. Minmier of Magnolia, Arkansas; two granddaughters, Kaye Marshall-Cecchini and her husband Michael of Placitas, New Mexico, Kimberly LeVrier and her husband Eric of Keller, Texas; brother, Tommy Eugene Adams and his wife Anne of Texarkana, Texas; three sisters, Hazel Driggers of Magnolia, Arkansas, Jewel Walker of Magnolia, Mississippi, Bette Chalfant and her husband James of Cleveland, Ohio; nine great grandsons, five great granddaughters, and a special friend, Bonnie Riggins and the staff and friends at Dudneywood. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 11:00 am at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Walter Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Family visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may by made to the Southern Christian Mission in Magnolia or to the Scleroderma Research Foundation, 220 Montgomery Street, Suite 1411, San Francisco, California 94104.
