Edna T. Grench

We loved having Edna as a neighbor. She really enjoyed watching and recording in her notes all the birds that would come to feed at her house. She would walk her dogs multiple times a day and took such good care of them. We would often see her at Cahokia Mounds where she felt she was doing such important work. I love Edna and the whole family so much. I'm eternally lucky to have grown two doors up the big hill from them. I kept just showing up at their bright, sunny door and she kept just including me in family activities (chores) which always felt important and light-hearted (chores). I accompanied the Grenches on camping trips (chores), missions to the 1969 inner city of Chicago and the re-budding of prairies of the area (chores). Edna was a member of St John´s United Methodist Church in Edwardsville. Her obituary is a lovely tribute to her kind soul. If only we could all cherish this earth as she did.
