Edna Hutcherson Martin, 90, of Bassett, died Sunday, November 26, 2017 at home. She was born September 9, 1927 to the late Posey Hutcherson and the late Mary Mize Hutcherson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leo Frank Martin; son, Terry Martin; two sisters, Betty Greer and Polly Bousman; two brothers, Robert Hutcherson and Johnnie Hutcherson.
Edna attended the Tabernacle Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Kenneth Wickline; one granddaughter, Missy Feazelle and Brad Hensley; three great grandchildren, Kayla Mitchell, Brandon Mitchell and Summer Feazelle; several nieces, nephews and special friends.
The family will receive friends, Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel where the funeral will follow at 2:30 PM with Rev. Jeff Rhea officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Center Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Edna requested that contributions be given to her daughter for Summer’s educational expenses.
The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for all the kindness, care, concerns and time they have given to Edna over the last 2 ½ years.
