Early, Saturday morning, May 7, 2011, Edna passed peacefully into her next journey with our everlasting Father, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Edna was born on March 22, 1925 in Charleston, South Carolina, the daughter of Victoria and Ebenezer Smith. She married Wilmot Wright on August 29, 1949, unto which she became the beautiful mother of five children. She was a dedicated mother and much loved by all who embraced her presence. She attended Burke High School in Charleston South Carolina where she worked as a private-duty nurse for over 50 years. She became a Christian in her early teens and was a faithful follower of the Lord. She was a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church for over four decades, whereupon she moved to Texas and became a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 59 years of marriage. She is survived by her loving children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Cornelius T. Fludd, Gardenia Mayo, Jacquetta Miller, Wilmot Wright and Cheryl Wright; (grandchildren) Derrick Johnson, Noah Miller, Victoria Kundrouf and Maria Kundrouf; (great-grandchildren) Isiah Johnson and Matthew Johnson.
